There is much talk about "fairness". Nothing about forgiving student loans is "fair ". Why should my nephews, who built successful glass businesses with sweat and a HS diploma, absorb the debts of kids who - largely - come from higher income families? Or we who earned a GI Bill and assisted our kids who worked their way through graduate degrees? Studies have shown that a main driver of runaway college costs is ready availability of low cost student loans. The only justifiable government investment would be programs to assist students in critically short, high skill studies.

Student loan forgiveness is unfair to everyone regardless of face that had to pay their loans. Bogus!

MAJ Byron Oyler - My last 10 years working before I retired, overall, I was very disappointed in the quality of engineering college graduates I interviewed for positions. I can't speak for other professionals.

SFC (Join to see) - Nursing schools are putting out quality over quality and we have to do a lot of training with new grads I did not need in 2003.

Regardless of race, Student Loan Forgiveness is unfair to everyone who had a loan & busted their tails to repay it. It will be MOST unfair to EVERYONE who are retired because everything that is “forgiven” &/or “free” never is! It is always passed on & paid by the taxpayers. Which means institutions will raise fees & families will have less take home pay, less money for families to buy necessities such as food, medicine, fuel to cool, heat & cook with.

You want to talk about racial injustice. I worked three jobs to get through college and took out student loans because the financial aid office worker who was African American (BTW she worked really hard to get me something and she thought it was unfair) told me that with the same credentials if my color was black I could go for free. Instead I was white and had to work my @$$ off and take out loans to be paid back later. Where is the racial injustice there...I was discriminated against because I was white! To eliminate student loan debt now is a slap in the face of all those who worked hard to do the right thing and pay theirs off. Racial injustice my @$$!

I would not say discriminated against sir (technically it is) more so that classifications of people by skin color were given resources we weren't. Back in the day I could see the reasoning, getting into the 90's I could see we were just creating a sense of entitlement among minorities, and that isn't healthy for any society.
