I am a veteran, as per the VA's definition of "veteran", yet I've got nothing at all to be proud of. As an officer with the USPHS Commissioned Corps, I've spent my entire service in a comfy office job at the NIH. I and all my fellow americans owe a debt to all the men and women who've laid down their lives for this great country. Thank you for your service SFC (Join to see) and all else on Rallypoint.

If you do a good job and help others the best you can, you have something to be proud of. Not everyone serves in a leadership position or is in the military. There are support positions that are just as important. There is room for all to be proud of our Country and what it stands for. It is important to remember this holiday is for those who gave their lives for us and our Country, that doesn't mean that we can't be proud of our contributions also.
