Another inequality with US health care system is treatment of different types of medical personnel. Doctors / physicians are treated like golden geese based on generation of service revenue. Nurses and other support staff are treated as unwanted expense despite being essential support.

I am not in the medical field. Never have been, never will be. But despite that, I see red every single time I hear someone say "just a nurse."
Nurses save lives. Period.
Good nurses turn average doctors into good doctors, and they make good doctors great. From what I have seen as a patient and read on the internets (and if it's on the internet, it MUST be true), the overwhelming majority of doctors highly value their nursing staff. It's a shame the company they both work for doesn't.
