Dred Scott v Sandford: Black people are not and could not be citizens
Plessy v Ferguson: Racial segregation was lawful so long as public facilities were "separate but equal"
Roe v Wade: The unborn have no rights AND the Constitution includes a right to privacy
All three decisions were forced by popular demand despite the fact that popular demand has no place in a constitutional republic. Popular demand is a hallmark of democracy only (mob rule).
With the overturning of Roe v Wade, women still have rights, just as many as men. Sadly, we no longer teach our citizens that with rights come responsibilities. When people, men and women choose to have sex, they have a responsibility to the issue of that decision. They cannot avoid that responsibility under cover of some illusory right to privacy fabricated out of whole cloth.

Capt Gregory Prickett - Religion? Are you upset because I compared attorneys to priests? For every legal scholar who you may cite, I can cite an equal number who disagree. But, again, there you go with "legal authorities." I prefer the plain language interpretation of the Constitution. Find me anyplace where "privacy" is mentioned. Just one will do. As for the balance of your last paragraph, you are in the weeds...

Capt Gregory Prickett - Try the preamble. "...provide for the mutual defense..." Yes, NASA was established to provide the technology needed for defense (as was the Interstate Highway System). No, "freedom" isn't mentioned. However, the Constitution specifically prohibits Congress from enacting laws that infringe on what? Freedom. Even a plain speaking citizen can figure that out. However, you attorneys like to cloud everything in legalese, don't you?

Capt Gregory Prickett - "Provide for the common defense..." When was NASA formed and to what purpose? The race to the Moon. What was so important about the Moon? It's the military high ground. Now, let's address abortion. Under federalism (10 Amendment) The federal government has ONLY those rights specifically granted. All others are reserved to the states and the people. That would logically include regulation of abortion. And here's one other thing... Roe v Wade was decided before we had ultrasound and in-utero films of the fetus in which we see the humanity of the fetus clearly demonstrated.

SrA John Monette - Dred Scott v Sandford (Blacks cannot be citizens) and Plessy v Fergusson (separate but equal). Both were justly overturned

CPT Jack Durish - Our Civil War was over state's rights. The southern states claimed they had the right to own slaves, then they claimed they had the right to leave the union.

If the states believed it was their "right" to keep slaves, why didn't they fight to keep their slaves as states? What was their need to secede?

Capt Gregory Prickett - I like that. But your crap is simply stating an opinion without any supporting evidence as though your word is law. Give me something to debate with or so long pal...
