Art of war: How a few good illustrators capture the heroism of today's Marines

That is an art that leaves me totally befuddled. No matter how I try sketching it looks like a 3 year old did it. Now, give me a ruler and objects to layout I can do blueprints/engineering drawings no problem.

When i watch someone with this skill it can mesmerize me for hours.
