The Airframes were already in place, to fit the spec'd requirements Boeing basically had to strip the guts of the aircraft and rewire most everything. Even considering this I don't understand why they will take so long to accomplish this task. Most of what is being changed is an internal retrofit that if the airframe were stripped should not be that difficult.

SPC Jon O. - Most contracts like this have a penalty for delays so I wouldn't think that was the issue, just my opinion or best guess.

Probably had to develop an escalator to prevent Joe from falling up the steps.

I had read a article a few months ago that Boeing had lots of problems with finding qualified workers that could pass the required background checks needed to work on POTUS airframes.

We live in a post-COVID world where companies want pre-COVID profit margins and workers want COVID payouts. We are having issues across the country and in my nursing field it is bad. I am the discount RN at my workplace because being full time staff is easier for me than being contract that sometimes make twice my income BUT hospitals are starting to pull that contract money back and people are saying HELL NO.
