I wonder why the small size for a State Record? Tennessee's record is 112 lbs. Kentucky is 107 Lbs. https://www.wdrb.com/news/fisherman-catches--pound-blue-catfish-in-the-ohio-river/article_ed5314e4-7344-11e9-bade-e755fe2a84be.html

SFC (Join to see) - It's a bow fishing record, not rod and reel record. The World Record Blue Cat came out of Kerr Lake on the Roanoke River in Virginia at 143 LBS.

Hunting the Big Blues and Flatheads is very popular in my part of the country. 80-90 LBS fish are not that uncommon. Yes, they fish with what looks like deep sea fishing tackle.

Wow! A Channel Catfish at 58 lbs. I didn't think they got that big. Thanks for a good article.

SFC (Join to see) - I would love to hit one of the new European hotspots for the Wels Catfish. I'd settle for a 200 LBS specimen.

That is what I was thinking, I live close to Owensboro, KY and about 3 years a gentleman caught a 103lb blue and didn't even break the record.
