Air Force Secretary Frank Kendall said Wednesday that some of America's aging A-10 Thunderbolt combat jets could potentially be given to Ukraine as part of continued efforts to help that country repel Russian forces.
Kendall made the comment at the Aspen Security Forum in Colorado on Wednesday evening after he was asked by a moderator whether the A-10, also known as the Warthog and which the Air Force has been slowly retiring from its fleet while encountering congressional resistance, could be given to Ukraine.

Only if we replace those A-10s with the latest generation. A-10s provide a capability that no other plane can provide.

Lt Col Charlie Brown I'm all for helping Ukraine defeat Russia but is any other countries giving the Ukraine anywhere near the amount of support the United States is providing? We are getting dragged into this war.

The USAF just want to dump the A10 for sleek fast high altitude more expensive fighters that don’t do crap for ground attack; and have wanted to do that for at least 20 years.

That’s a given 1SG Russell S.. I would hope they give them the older models.
So far Congress has not allowed the USAF to totally get rid of the A-10. IMHO, the Air Force should give the A-10’s, the ground crews and the pilots to the Army if they don’t want to support the ground mission!
