funny how this is contradictory to people. if you told your kids dont smoke because it causes cancer and lung issues and they did it anyway. you'd stop loving them? sounds like some one is spreading foolishness here.

So because he has beliefs that differ from his son, he is not allowed to show support to his son...? You can love and support someone and still think what they are doing is wrong...

On a side note ... this is a prime reason we need to gut congress as a whole... like who the hell cares if gay people want to get married... why is this an issue... are they not citizens of the U.S.; do they not get afford the same rights as everyone else?? This always baffled me... this should have never been illegal in the first place!

SFC Kelly Fuerhoff - You don't think a person can have strong opposition to a persons personal belief and still have love for that person. I can tell you if my son and I disagreed on something this monuments, I would not love him any less and would surely not miss something as important to him as is wedding because of it.... I would like to think that I would still be close to my child regardless of our political or moral beliefs on matters. ... Now this is only hypothetical, my son and I are both pretty much on the same page with most things, but I would like to think even if we were not, our love for each other would go beyond politics...
