They shouldn't be removed. It part of that units history and it should be preserved.

Leave it alone. It's history. History defines the struggles and achievements of a people. Despots dragging free peoples down into autocracy have always redefined and rewrittened history. SSG Michael Davis SPC Jon O. As usual, SFC (Join to see) opined without reading the article.

The headline says it's about the patch - not the streamers. As does the article: "As part of an effort to strip commemorative nods to the Confederacy from the military, an independent naming commission has determined that the 29th Infantry Division should keep its unit patch, but that the language used to describe it in the Army’s heraldic listings should get an update, according to a Monday release."

Patches can be easily updated and changed. I don't see why that would be an issue with anyone.

Where does it say in this article remove campaign streamers from the Civil War?
