Why do Company Commanders stress Metrics? Because BN is stressing Metrics. Why is BN stressing Metrics? Because BDE is. Why is BDE? Because DIV is. And so on and so on all the way to someone in USARC is stressing Metrics.
"She also wants low and mid-echelon commanders to tell their bosses when they’re asking them to do too much." Yea....good luck with that one. Too many Bosses don't want to hear the bad. They certainly don't want to hear "You're giving us too many Taskers." God. Those Taskers in eLAS.
Bless her heart for being in the right place....but realistically, I don't see this happening all too well at the tactical level.

Unless they can decouple metrics from the commanders’ OERs, it’s going to stay metrics first, last, and always.
Especially when you’re having weekly telecons on things like CAT III and IV medical and dental, NCOERs, and so on.

This is a very tough nut -- there's a lot hours that can be recouped if proper risk management is conducted... I've been told to shut up and color on numerous occasions over frivolous training... and the Army goes rolling along
