Politically motivated investigations? A key tactic of the right.... but you are correct, never really amount to anything besides a circus sideshow to keep the base entertained and distracted. None of it actually stands up in a court of law... but that isn't the point of right-wing "investigations". Those on the right know it is the media spin that matters and that the influence on the court of public opinion is far more important that the court of law. They play the "conservative" base like a fiddle.
