I could have predicted this. So could anyone else with more than 2 brain cells remaining after the unnecessary lockdowns.

My wife and I live in Florida. We've been going out to eat pretty much the same as before the pandemic. Enough so that 1/3 of our food budget is in the Dining Out category! There was about 4 weeks during the initial lockdown that we did not. After that, Florida adopted a no lockdown, no mask enforcement stance. Even being a state with a higher proportion of at risk (elderly & those with comorbidities) we fell just below the midline as each state is ranked. We are currently 26th or 27th for "death rate". And we get a ton of people FROM those states in the top 10 - especially their politicians!

SFC (Join to see) - Our mask enforcement was left in the hands of each company and in county/city government. That's why in Miami-Dade, Broward & Palm counties we had "mask mandates" (unenforceable as it was against state law) for so long. Granted, 75% (approx) ignored it or played the game like in several restaurants. "Mask required to enter". Cool, wear it in, get a table, take it off and leave it off the rest of the time in there. 2 seasons of Football was spent at Buffalo Wild Wings or Bokamper's!
Those restaurants and other businesses that enforced masks lost so much business most of them failed - and closed.
There were a few other counties that are blue and went "all in" as far as they could. But, I would say about 90% of the state (as measured in square miles) flipped the bird and quit all the nonsense very, very early into the pandemic. Except medical facilities. Still have to wear your mask there. (Though that may have very recently changed. Need to find out!)
