SFC (Join to see) - Sad but very true!

This is why EVERY VOICE matters!!! When governments try to silence ANY VOICE (Black, White, Hispanic, gay, straight, young, old, Urban, Suburban, Rural, rich, poor, North, West , East, South, somewhat educated, well-educated, ETC.) such governments are NOT exercising the vision of a "...government of the people, for the people and by the people..." in it's desired inclusivity to participate in such government, it actually work to achieve the opposite, when the lines of communication are narrow or are unable to be bridged.

It remains sad that people are willing NOT call out egregiousness regardless of party affiliation. Again, I think many more people are centrist and/or independent in their thinking and actions. I have ALWAYS "disliked" extremes as extremes ALWAYS work to disenfranchise others, even when they are not the cause of the of a problem, thus creating extremist when none before existed, because political expediency and "Stalin-esk/Mao-esk" tactics are deployed.

In this day of hyper-communications, I am afraid, we as a people are more divided than ever if we collectively regardless of party allow the media to dictate the terms of our - humanity.

Finally, PFC Kimberly Staiti is correct when she says, "This kind of ugly has no place here."

The thought is this then - How do we talk about the "Good, the bad, and the Ugly" if we are ONLY willing, because we are "comfortable". to talk about "good" and ignore the "bad" or the "ugly (i.e., pure evil - EXTREME RIGHT or EXTREME LEFT)" if we cannot look upon the "metaphorical face" of Ugly to address it?

Again, "We the people are over 320 million strong "together" and there 535 members of the house and senate that a scared #$#%%$-less if all of a sudden "We the people....in order to form a more perfect union..." say in 2026 elect 60% of congress as card carrying Independents who a moderately-conservative combined with being progressively conservative. This combination of ANTI-party politics in favor of OPEN and HONEST debate that can withstand independent analysis to get to - consensus - is something the extreme centers of power don't want to happen - ever! There has always been little doubt in my mind that our great nation is NOT perfect, but it is the DREAM, "I HAVE A DREAM, that one day we..." will with courage and holding all accountable we will become worthy of the greatness the promise of "...freedom and justice for all..." will truly mean at all levels of government and society!!!

This is not naive, it is what the flawed men who founded this nation, despite their often-horrific flaws, knew in the beginning that for the words "...to form a more perfect union..." to have lasting impact and be eventually believed that "...liberty and justice for all..." we in "...peaceful assembly..." would have to deal with harsh realities.

These next four to eight months, much less the same number of years, will provide a window for "We the people..." to know if our "...can long-endure..." as we begin the next 250 years of desired responsible freedom that all can enjoy via mutual respect so that we can "... provide for the common defense..." when we the have the systems that "...preserve, protect, and defend..." "...the domestic tranquility..." in such a manner so as to assure that we are able to "...establish justice..." that will also enable the capacity to "...promote the general welfare..." so that "We the people..." can learn the best from each other will NOT being asked to tolerate the worst from each other!

So, is it tooooooooooo much to ask while we struggle with these lofty goals (well set of mutually dependent goals) to return to common sense and "honest" civility as we learn to trust each other - again?

"...I have a DREAM..." that dream has never left me. But I am an idealistic-realist as I work daily in my little corner to leave this world - "...just a little better than I found it..."!

Just saying.....................................

CPO Nate S. - PFC Kimberly Staiti doesn't understand the principles our Country were founded on, or she does and is part of the element that wants to burn down our Country and start over. It's that simple.

SFC (Join to see) - The "operative word" is "PRINCIPLES".

There is no doubt in my mind the founders knew that slavery and other systems of suppression/oppression both overt and covert were known to them without question on any level. In an examination of all of our collective human history, where in that collective human history was a "...nation 'CONSIVED' in liberty..." whose founders, humans all, knew they were launching a DREAM because they knew they were flawed, yet dared to have the courage to want to make such changes for "...themselves and their posterity...".

Think of how beautiful the Preamble and the initials words of Declaration are and what such words are advocating knowing full well the govern is being "...instituted among 'men'...", and that inherently these 'men' are in fact - FLAWED!!!

This lack of a DEEP understanding of the words and an HONEST discussion of this is what many people lack. I don't know how many times on RP and in other comms I have shared that if one is paying attention these 'men' our founders - were in fact flawed. But, like 'religion' what is flawed are the 'man-made' rules and not the FAITH that God asked us to have.

If we take a Hobbit thought line for a moment the Golden Rule is the ONE Rule to RULE Them ALL. Meaning, if we learn to and then execute those behaviors that allow us to treat others as we ourselves would want to be treated with respect and dignity then we begin to live Christ's example for the good life and realize God's plan is simple and only "humankind" via "stupid" rules can muck it up.

As my son very often observes, you cannot call yourself a person of faith (i.e., believer in Christ) if in your heart you harbor hate ill-temperedness toward other human beings. He cannot understand, and frankly neither can I, how people call themselves 'holy' as it were, and then act in such 'unholy' ways toward their felt - human beings.

Oh, I mentioned "PRINCIPLES" (well you mentioned principles) - that is exactly correct! People focus on the "flaws" of the Founders, but I ask you again, where in human history has a nation been "...conceived in liberty..." that places the fears of men behind them to write a document, though not perfect, that allows for the evolution of themselves individually and collectively to change. Fear is something that is easily manipulated and used to leverage irrational responses in the hands of those whose ONLY capacity is shortsighted. It is the THINKER who threatens the status-quo for those whose ONLY card to play is fear and their own insecurities!!! FDR's words "The only thing we have to FEAR is FEAR itself" are truer today than when he spoke to them. Don't get me wrong, there are somethings that do not impress me about FDR, but there are other things for which he has my undying respect! The beauty of being an INDEPENDENT is that I look at history clear glasses verse the rose-color of idealogues.

Therefore, I am not a fan of short answers as they don't provide clear thinking and messages are often muddled. So, I prefer either NOT to answer on RP or do as I am doing now and take people on a thought experiment journey!!! If nothing else, if I have via logic and placed language gotten some to rethink their position even if I cannot convert them, I have - at least - tried to educate. This is what happens when imperfect people work to have that "...more perfect union..." in themselves and then work after to share their experiences (call it wisdom if you like). So, if my words have helped the PFC and others consider other thoughts - great - if not - then OK I have done my job and all I can do is be consistent so the message of - PRINCIPLES remains clearly communicated!!!

Just saying...............the best I can do.........................Thoughts?!?!?!?

CPO Nate S. - I am also long winded as my wife tells me. :) I agree with everything you just said and would only add that people must be judged against the standards of the time when they took their actions. Too often people want to apply today's standards to yesterday's actions. To judge fairly it just doesn't work that way.

Where is the kindness in spending a person's money on a drunken spree? Conservatives (notice I didn't say Democrats or Republicans) have been too kind for well over 50 years and what have we got for it? Socialism and crude sex being taught to our children in school, with about 30 trillion dollars in debt that will bankrupt our Country.

Respect is a two way street that the Left never uses. They have been waging a culture war for that +50 years that I spoke about, and we are now at a point where their masks are off and they are openly saying they want to burn everything down and start over... Where is the kindness and respect in that?

SSG James Phelps: You are SOOOO right. Buckle your seat belt and prepare for an irrelevant, costly and time consuming AUDIT BY THE IRS now that they are employing 87,000 Agents. If I were a ranking Republican in Washington I would tell anyone applying for one of those jobs to have a backup job ready because as soon as the Republicans regain control all of those jobs will be going away for good!
