Texas Gov. Greg Abbott will send migrant buses to Chicago

The first busload of immigrants arrived at Chicago’s Union Station several nights ago as Chicago becomes the 3rd destination city for asylum-seeking immigrants who are being bused from Del Rio, Texas. Governor Greg Abbott has already sent migrants to other self-professed sanctuary cities Washington, DC, and New York City.

“To continue providing much-needed relief to our small, overrun border towns, Chicago will join fellow sanctuary cities Washington, DC, and New York City as an additional drop-off location,” said Gov. Abbott. “Mayor [Lori] Lightfoot loves to tout the responsibility of her city to welcome all regardless of legal status, and I look forward to seeing this responsibility in action as these migrants receive resources from a sanctuary city with the capacity to serve them.”

He further stated, “We'll continue bussing migrants to sanctuary cities like NYC, DC, & now Chicago until the federal gov't does its job & secures the border.”
