In Rockland County, the vaccination rate for children under age two dropped from 67% in 2020 to 60% in 2022, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. In some areas of Rockland, only 37% of kids in this age group are up to date on their vaccine.
State, national, and global health authorities believe the poliovirus found in New York originated from a country that still uses the oral polio vaccine. The oral vaccine uses a live virus that in rare circumstances can mutate and cause disease.
The U.S. stopped using the oral vaccine more than 20 years ago. It now administers an inactivated vaccine that contains killed virus that cannot mutate. The inactivated vaccine is highly effective at preventing disease but does not stop transmission of the virus."...

MSG (Join to see) apology extended... no offense meant when asking about being new... I wrongly thought you hadn't read the many Threads regarding politics. It was like this when I joined two years ago... but I will admit I contribute my share in that area & make no apologies for that. So, in that regard... the best I can do is agree to disagree about what should or shouldn't be discussed on RP. If you look through many of my Threads you'll see that I contribute much more than my political opinions. I have Contacts on the other side of the fence & we get along just fine... as long as there is civility & respect. My purpose for participating on RP is to combat the effects 45 has on our democracy & Constitution. I belong to no other social media sites. I have no concern about what others think about my comments... I stand by my words & don't say anything I wouldn't say to their face. When I'm wrong... I apologize... that's just who I am. So, do you still want to be a Contact... Why or Why not?
