These books don't belong in the school libraries. Many of the board members don't want them read out in public because they are so explicit. If they are too explicit for that, they are too explicit for kids.

I guess my question is, how explicit are these books? They don’t give any titles of books to find out exactly what is in them, so how can we judge? And to say that the books can’t be read out in public?? I think that’s a first amendment, right, and by all accounts it’s really up to the individual child’s parents to make the decision as to what they can read, and what they can’t read. There are a lot of people these days, making judgment calls with a very broad brush and discriminating against an individual group by allowing reading material that pertains to them be banned that in itself is unconstitutional.
