For those of you who are retiring from the military soon or are beneficiaries of the PACT Act, please be wary of organizations who are offering a service to assist with VA benefits. You may want to consider simply going direct to the VA to file.
Amongst other things, the article states, "In some cases, predatory companies charge 500% to 600% of the monthly benefit the veteran receives. So if, for example, a veteran receives a monthly benefits increase of $1,000, the veteran would owe the company $5,000 to $6,000 “right off the bat,” he said. Veterans sign a contract, but may not realize the cost." (Army Times, 2022)

You should NEVER pay someone to file an initial VA claim for you. There are NUMEROUS Veteran Service Organizations (VSOs) that will assist you with your claim for free.

There might be cases down the road where you could seek the assistance of a disability lawyer (VSOs can help in that as well), but cross that bridge if you come to it.
