A QUOTE F.T.C. - "This concert happened when I was about 4 months old. Six years later, my camp counselor taught us "If I Had a Hammer" and "Puff the Magic Dragon". Those songs stuck with me from age 6. Many years later, I had the honor of singing "If I Had a Hammer" in concert with Pete Seeger and meeting Peter Yarrow at an environmental educators' conference and singing with him there. What a time it was, it's been, and it continues to be. We're coming up on the 60th anniversary of this concert, as I approach my 60th birthday. There is still so much work to be done, and it seems to me we need the heart, passion and direction of this music as much now as ever."

I was there and saw this. My parents went to Newport for as long as I can remember. This was the summer before I graduated high school but while my parents were there I brought along my girlfriend of the time.
