SFC (Join to see) 4 college students were killed about 80 miles south at U of Idaho. They were all stabbed, but if just one would have been armed, the outcome might have been very different.

PO1 Jeff Chandler - I saw a lot of things in that article and video but I didn't see an announcement like this. How did I miss it. Where in the article did you see it?

My personal opinion is that every school should have a minimum of two armed resource officers, three would be better . One is static in the area of the office, the other one or two are roaming the school and perimeter. Adding trained and armed teachers would also help.

I can appreciate your thinking. For a threat from outside this would be fine but it seems most of these mentally ill killers are past students. Why does this matter in my mind? Because while they are mentally ill, they show they can plan attacks. Knowing how many guards there are, and their normal routes of patrol would make it easy to take them out or avoid them until they could get a class or two under their control. They don’t think about it deliberately like you or I would, but their desire will eventually lead hem down the same path.

I like arming teachers and/or other staff because there is no guarantee teachers will be in the same room years after year and other staff roam the building as needed. This is problematic also unless people are very discreet about how they carry. Kids notice everything. Whoever can’t handle themselves shouldn’t carry that’s for sure.

Probably a combination of both is needed to get the most bang for the buck. Being in close contact with my grandchildren’s teachers I know there are enough to do the job in the two districts I know. There is also another problem with Pinko teachers who will not want to see guns in school. They will sabotage any attempt made to arm teachers and/or staff, these dangerous bastards are their own worst enemy and therefore the children’s worst enemy. MHO’s

SFC (Join to see) I understand your thinking. As I mentioned I agree with arming those teacher who wish to be trained and armed. It is not a obligation taken lightly. As for armed resource officers, each time you make rounds change up the routes. In schools with just one officer, it is easier to know where they are.
