In the article, one of the wokerati journalists is defending Mastodon saying that it is a good thing because journa.host is like Twitter without all the non-journalists and nastiness.

I understand no nastiness is good. But isn't the point of journalism to communicate to non-journalists? How is a platform for journalists at all useful if they are only communicating with other journalists?

I don't do social media aside from RP. I don't even have accounts for them. So maybe I am missing something here. But it sounds an awful lot like he is trying so hard to justify a bad decision he doesn't even hear what he is saying.
