SFC (Join to see) I gave up on that idea. Since I'm using satellite I bought a stand alone 2 tb hard drive and record any movie I wanted to keep and watch. So far, I have close to 500 movies stored

Great idea! Don't forget to back up. There are some very affordable external hard drives out there that can be used for backs up.

Jim for the win! I went this route a few years ago as well. Sprung for the lifetime Plex Media Server (found it was much better than the alternatives) and rip every CD/DVD I have and put them on my NAS.
