Lt Col Charlie Brown The described 81st Infantry Division is the first unit that I have ever seen mentioned as having trained at Camp San Luis Obispo, CA where I went in 1953 for BCT and AIT.
Somewhere in my time, an ?Old Soldier described having marched the 13 miles from CSLO to the beach at Morro Bay for training. That was all, no mention was made of the type of training or the unit.
