SFC (Join to see) - I worked as a personnel clerk in Ft Gordon after I came back from Korea, they tried to change out how to make dog tags from a pc instead of a punch machine. problem was they got a pc with no hard drive just 2 floppy 5 1/2 disk drives. I had a hard time with my limited knowledge on dos at that time to make it work lol

SGT Jim Arnold - Shoot when I was in Germany you were high tech if you had a VCR & that was the NCO's that lived in housing, us guys that lived in the barracks were limited to stereos. When we went to the field everything had to fit into your grey sheet metal wall locker.

SGT Jim Arnold - Working at the Naval Ship Repair Facility on Guam, when I got to be the Welding training leader, I was told I had to use a computer. I told them I didn't know how, and was sent to a computer class for two days. Really, all I knew after that was, my password.
At work I was issued a 286 computer, come in, turn it on, wait for it to warm up for 15 minutes, put in my password, wait 20 minutes, then get confused. Lol

Back in the day, reinstalling Win 95, you had better have known DOS, Win 95 had 13 floppy disks. No CD's then, my Gateway HD was 18mg and ram was 4mb. Lol

My first IBM clone was a 386 running win95 on dial up (I was lucky that I had my own place), my next one was a Pentium 1 running win98 and I thought that I was at the top of the pile. The first time I got online after I switched to having internet from my cable company, I was like "WOW this is so fast" no more waiting for a hour for a page to load.

It's fascinating to hear about how Windows XP might be hiding in Windows 11. It's amazing how technology evolves and older features can still find their way into newer operating systems. I'm curious to learn more about these hidden places and how they may impact the user experience in Windows 11. Thanks for sharing! If you're interested in upgrading to Windows 11, you might want to check out https://turnkeypoint.com/product/windows-11-pro/ for more information on the Windows 11 Pro version.

The basics never change... at least most of the time they don't.
