The problem that a lot of people that are zealots on a cause is that they never consider secondary or tertiary effects of an action.

Moving to renewables is a GOOD THING. IMO, there is absolutely nothing wrong with moving towards a sustainable source of energy or a vehicle that runs without fossil fuels.

However ... we aren't there yet. Our current electrical grid that has grown and developed over 40 years currently uses less than 20% of 'renewables' (wind, hydro, solar, bio, or geothermal) to power the grid. Nuclear makes up about the same (bit less than 20%) while the rest is from fossil fuels. So when you plug in your "completely clean EV", about 60% of the charge it's getting comes from fossil fuels.

More appropriate to this story is that we aren't in a position to help our allies significantly with energy.

One thing that many should agree on is that we should invest greatly in nuclear power - at least that's something that is proven and makes up about a fifth of our grid now (fun fact: nuclear is one of the least greenhouse gas producing energy sources (1.46% of a coal plant's emissions), only beaten out barely by onshore wind (1.34%) ... but the GreenPeace SJWs will have you believe another nuclear plant equals a dystopian future reminiscent of Mad Max)

It's going to take many years to get enough renewables up and running on the grid to start changing those number significantly.

The problem is the dictatorial way it's being done. And in the meantime while getting those renewables up and running politicians are robbing the citizens with new and additional taxes and fees.

SPC Lyle Montgomery My state is truly blessed because of hydropower. And wouldn't you know the governor and his flunky senator have decided to breach the dams and go with solar and wind generators. Two down so far.

CPL Douglas Chrysler - You couldn't find a cleaner energy than hydroelectric power. It just shows how stupid that the woke liberal tree huggers are. Biden and his band of morons won't be in forever, I just hope that they don't do much more damage while they are in office.

SGT (Join to see) - Best check it's not in a hurricane/fault prone area or you'll be giving up one headache for another. 8>)
