You are right! It was a magic time for people who were sports purists. There was loyalty to team and one another.

Was home on leave when this happened. Thought the game was over and then surprise. The beginning of the Steeler Dynasty. Dad and I listened to the game on the radio. Back then, local games were blacked out on TV. People would travel to W Va. or Ohio to a bar to watch games, each about 45 minutes away.

It was the most exciting game ending play I ever saw, before and since. Franco Harris was one of the pieces of glue that held that dynasty together.
