The services racked up about $270 million in needed repairs after housing more than 80,000 Afghan refugees at U.S. military bases between summer 2021 and 2022, according to a report released Wednesday by the Defense Department’s inspector general.

Absolutely terrible article as far as reporting goes. There was damage to infrastructure and WW2 era housing units without clarification of if the facilities were abused by the refugees… which brings the question where was the oversight an/or why are they going to upgrade WW2 vintage building that are typically torn down and replaced?
