A dilapidated building at the former Fort Ritchie in Cascade, Maryland, will be turned into an artisan village — and a historic Japanese Nisei mural within it — will be preserved thanks to a state grant.
The Building 305 project at Fort Ritchie, located in Washington County in Western Maryland, received a $225,000 grant this fall from the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development’s Community Legacy program. The work to save the building and its mural was one of 64 projects awarded a combined $8 million.

Past Generation's contributions and Artwork should not be lost.
It should be conserved if possible. If not, a video of exactly what it shows and a narration of Who these Americans were and how they saved many and The Awards the Military bestowed to them.
I believe, that in that Era, Racism was rampant. After the War, it may have been that Truman Desegregated the Military in large Part due to those segregated Units having more accommodations than those " Whites only" units/ Regiments. Undermining for all to see that the dogma that Racism entails- superiority of one Race over others being either Divinely enacted or just the way things are.
Hard to claim that your superior when other races are out performing you.
