As of mid-afternoon on 4 JAN 2023, there is still no elected Speaker for House of Representatives. Democrats are the minority party, but united behind Hakeem Jeffries. Republicans are the majority party, but remain divided over who will be leader.

Those opposing McCarthy apparently can’t even agree on who the alternate Speaker candidate should be. And they are making deals jockeying for committees. All Democrats have to do is sit back and laugh at the GOP making fools of themselves again. I’m tired of the grand standing, they need to pull their heads out and get it done! This is a conservatives nightmare!
