Yes, I am ready. It will be great theater if it gets covered in the media. They will mention it once in passing, say it is a bad idea, and then we will not hear about it again. How does the old saying go: You can lead a horse to water...

As much as I want this to happen, being a realist, I believe it never will. This is an example of a concession which will go nowhere without control of the House, Senate, and the Office of the President (and even then, it will still be a significant uphill battle). Still, I guess the debate is a good thing and hopefully it will entice more Americans to demand it. The thing is, few pay attention to the national news, and/or way too many get theirs from sources which may not report this initiative.
