*sigh* ... the diluting of reality by wokeness strikes again.

I'm all for assistance in increasing diversity - increase outreach, given mentors to assist in the the process, etc. But lowering standards just so you can increase the number of applicants that make it though the requirements of the job?

If the test was artificially tougher and not related to the job, I could understand modifying the test to come more in line with the physical requirements. However, the CPAT test* is specifically designed to simulate the physical requirements needed at a fire scene.

I could care less about your skin color, sexual orientation, political philosophy, religious beliefs (or lack of them), or anything else. Can you do the job?

Yes? You're in. No? Find something else to do.

I guess my question us do I want diverse Firefighters or Firefighters able to get someone out if a burning building?
