I never even heard of General Braxton Bragg until a few years ago. It'll always be FT Bragg to me...and all my documents, Awards, etc...
Who's to blame?

SGT John Prolo - Yeah except for the "if you don't like it leave" mentality is a pretty shitty response to dealing with a problem. Do YOU really care about the name of the bases you serve on? Like wouldn't it be kind of irritating to you if we had an army base out of New York called Fort Bin Laden? or Al Quaida Air Base? That might have you raising a few questions. If anything, its kind of in poor taste wouldn't you agree?

So if the deeds of the past don't effect you, and you don't have any direct link to the namesakes, then so long as they don't name our bases Fort Pink Pony Princess or something to that effect, why get so upset about it?

The one shitty thing "Americans" tend to forget is you can hide your racism, you can hide your bigotry, you can't hide your skin color. It doesn't effect you the same way because you've never had to deal with it. If anything, have some decency for your fellow man and back them when they tell you its not right; they're the subject matter experts when it comes to being the target of slavery and systematic racism in the US. What does it cost you? Whats the harm?

SPC Robert Coventry - I can agree to this as well. I will always call my Basic done at Fort Benning, my Airborne time at Fort Bragg, and my pilot training at Fort Rucker, but it has little to no impact on my life if they change the name. History can't change; it was at one time called by those names and it will forever be; and future generations will call it by its new name and that will be the end of it.

Do you actually think changing the names of Military Bases is going to change anything? You’re delusional dude…as with everything else these woke leftists want they always want more. You cannot give into this mob mentality! You’re just as bad and woke. You make me sick. This country did more for the world than any other. And slavery was the way life was, of course it wasn’t right but it’s over for us in this country. I’m not going to go on about how blacks were the only slaves. What about the Irish? I digress…
Anyway you fucking idiots keep changing whatever makes you happy. In the meantime I’m still buying my guns and my ammo to hopefully be used to take this country back from leftist lunatics like you. It’s going to be a Grand time, it might take awhile to find all you weasel’s. First and foremost is getting all you shitheads out of the Academia institutions. Y’all have brainwashed decades of people. I think if we just cleaned up our local areas of leftists it would have a huge effect on the country. Either that, or blue state folks make their own little country of idiots. Either way it works for me.

Why must every disagreement be "leftist vs rightist" or whatever. I can admit that I am not a huge fan of the current administration, but I wasn't a fan of the previous one either. Why is everything someone doesn't agree with considered "woke"? Just goes to show some of yall are incapable of change; so much for adapt and overcome.

Tons of races/ethnic groups were subject to slavery. Irishmen and Italians weren't considered white during the immigration times, but none so blatant and horrifying as that of the Black African American. Just so we're clear; I'm not shaming white people but you/no one should downplay racism against people of color in the U.S. You seem to want people to leave this country, but I love my country and I'm willing to take it for what it is in its triumphs and in its defeats; and we've been taking a lot of L's lately in the society department.

Also, what does not being okay with racism have to do with buying guns and ammo? I probably have more weapons and ammo than you do! Since when did "wokeness" and fear of gun-ownership become mutually exclusive? You realize you're openly stating that you're willing to overthrow the government and "hunt down" "us" "leftist weasels" ? How dense can you be? Sounds like domestic terrorism to me.

Its no wonder most of you never made it past Sgt in your career progression. Couldn't make descisions to better the team that maybe didn't align with yourself; but you still want to get your thank-yous and military discounts and call yourself veterans; land of the free though right? You should be ashamed of yourself John. I'm all for a harder less forgiving military, but not at the expense of the rights I and presumably you fought for. You can't advocate for freedom of speech and thought, and simultaneously want to silence those who don't share your values. I'm glad relics like you are falling off in our organization; there is not place for you in this Army.

That being said, I respect your opinion as you are entitled to it, but I vehemently disagree with your views and I hope people with your thought process continue to decline and become the minority.
