I have a horrible premonition that these events will get much worse and more frequent.

We had a chance to address this last year..
"Tillis and Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (I-Ariz.), who was also among those at the border last week, made a last-minute attempt last year to win support for a narrow proposal that would have allocated tens of billions of dollars to border security and processing asylum requests while also handing"

The hard right does not want this resolved. It is an issue that gets them elected.

Greetings MSG Stan Hutchison, when you read the bill you'll see that it has little to do with the hard right. Following up on the bill in .GOV and you'll find the process of the bill as it moves forward. Senator Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona and the Tillis bill consisted of 1) extending Title 42 for one year, 2) increasing Border Patrol staffing, and pay, 3) changing the asylum process, and 4) providing a path to citizenship for more than 2 million so-called Dreamers. Half of those are protected today under DACA.

While Title 42 helps it does not stop the huge influx of illegals crossing the southern border from over 100 countries. In December 2022, approximately 49K (less than 20% of crossings) were sent back across the border using Title 42, leaving 251K that crossed the border and that does not include the gotaways. The legal status was presented as an exchange or held as a hostage for weak border security that effectively would not stop the flow as it is today.

The bill took its biggest hit from Democrats that did not want to extend Title 42. The Senators Sinema/Tillis bill had the right idea but would not stop the flow of illegals, and the continued growing expense taxpayer pay to support the project. Kudos to Sinima/Tillis for the attempt. It just needs more thought that will actually fix the problem.

SPC Jeff Daley, PhD If someone comes here illegally they shouldn't be entitled to $hit. Break the law and get rewarded? What a bunch of crap. These illegals are living better than a lot of our citizens who are supporting them.

Cpl Vic Burk It's concerning to learn that illegals are housed in hotels, get meals, and clothes in New York City while homeless to include veterans live on the street. A Fraction of taxpayer money goes to the homeless and even less to homeless veterans compared to the money appropriated for illegals.
