By using warped space-time as a magnifying glass, astronomers have picked up the most distant signal of its kind from a remote galaxy, and it could blow open a window into how our universe formed.

The record-breaking radio frequency signal, picked up by the Giant Metrewave Radio Telescope (GMRT) in India, came from the galaxy SDSSJ0826+5630, located 8.8 billion light-years from Earth, meaning the signal was emitted when the universe was roughly a third of its current age.

Also, a real army Captain who lost his legs served in this movie as disabled veteran trying to save the world.

Correction a retired full bird colonel played a disabled veteran. The blonde woman was the Admiral's daughter who was a therapist at the Veterans Center. He didn't really feel like being motivated or living because he didn't feel like he was a man without his legs and she was trying to motivate him to walk when the aliens attacked.

Thunderstruck ACDC Battleship

Lt Col Charlie Brown the aliens destroyed the main destroyer in the movie so the surviving crew goes to the Battleship Missouri and miraculously the old crew members volunteer and get the ship going. I know what science fiction but they did actually tow the Missouri out to see for this movie. The ship was being cleaned up and dry dock and they also used it the main battle scene.
