Why would I necessarily believe RADM(LH) Kirby when he says anything? Even if he wasn't a liar by nature (I don't know the man), his success as the the commander of the Public Information Branch and CHINFO makes him highly suspect. Besides, how many individuals who are the face of the executive branch, haven't lied incessantly since JAN 2021?

Having done Army Public Affairs as a career when I was in uniform... I can tell you that Public Affairs is not about the truth in many cases. It's about spinning the truth to present the US military in the best possible light. All corporations and public entities do it, so trust no one and seek multiple sources for information about things you care about.
