The primary purpose of Scout Snipers is reconnaissance. If we get rid of scout snipers, how will Commanders gain battlefield intelligence?

Through the use of battalion reconnaissance assets, like the reconnaissance platoon. From the article: ""Precision rifle capability will remain within the infantry company, and the Marine Corps will continue to maintain school-trained snipers within Marine Reconnaissance and Marine Special Operations units"

It would seem the Commandant is hell bent on removing Marine combat multipliers.
