People act surprised. The press secretary is nothing but a paid shill for the president, doesn't matter what administration you're under. However, this one has show that she's a DEI hire and wasn't put there for her competency. She can't even lie very well or dodge questions without looking like the fool she is (if you took away that binder, she'd have nothing to do except hem and haw when asked a tough question).
Lover her or hate her, at least her predecessor was competent.
