I think I'll have to keep a 'canned response' available for each time this comes up every couple of months.

While it is technically true that this is a proposal to cut veterans benefits, it's one of those "Hey, CBO, give us every option out there to reduce government spending" things and it's not seriously considered.

These options appear every year in the CBO's "Options for Reducing the Deficit" (think it was called something else prior to 2011 though) every year (heck, here's one* from back in 2000), but they are never seriously considered or even make it past a CBO report (can't find any indication they were acted upon in committee let alone make it out of committee to the floor).

Thank you, this is the first time I have seen one, or at least remember seeing one. I figured it was a proposal for political posturing purposes then I realized it isn't an election year. A disabled vet friend of mine sent it to me so I thought I'd share.
