There was an article that locally one of the Power companies is going to install a Solar Array capable of powering hundreds of homes.

Maybe a couple of facts might help: The standard conventional nuclear power plant generates 1,000 megawatts of electricity. 1,000 megawatts is enough to service 1,255,000 people or 500,000 households. A 1,000 megawatt nuclear generation station requires 50 acres of land. To generate the equivalent amount of electricity solar power requires 4,000 acres and wind turbines require 2,500 acres. Now, tell me where are the environmentalists?

Only because it's heavily subsidized by those that aren't using it, it still has to have enough conventional power production to make up for all of the non-generating periods such as night or low/no wind periods, ice storms, etc, and ignores the environmental consequences of Solar and Wind Farms.
For power to be useful, it must be concentrated and available. Solar and wind fail both qualifications. Which as one of the few smart things the current administration has down, they have contracted with Poland to build small scale modular Nuclear Reactors. That's as close to clean power as we can get.
