The right wants to deflect with Clinton meme or Soros funding elections of regional judges. Issue is Clarence Thomas is a SCOTUS justice with lifetime appointment and trips are an ethics issue indicating explicit bias.

SFC John D.
You might not be aware, but ALL federal judges have lifetime appointments, regardless if they are a regional one or sit on the Supreme Court (Article III, Section I of the Constitution). So a federal judge with a lifetime appointment being cozy with a prolific Democrat donor doesn't bother you because he's not sitting at a higher level (because obviously it's not the "lifetime appointment" unless you were unaware) or is it just because he's conservative?

Sorry but this is much ado about nothing for me.
First, because according to SCOTUS ethics, he has not done anything prohibited.
Second, it has been reported that Harlan Crow has not had any cases before SCOTUS that would bring scrutiny on Thomas's rulings.
Third, Thomas's stance on rulings and his history are quite well documented and with nearly every decision it has been predicted where his vote would be cast so I do not see a reason to say there was any influence.
