Maj Kim Patterson - The first time I played pong was on a table size sit down console and it cost a quarter in Germany. When I got back to the States I went to Sears and got a Atari 2600 like they used, along with maybe six different games, I kept it 6-8 months and sold it.

Before always online was a requirement, or even possible.

Games needed to be fun and fully developed when released, if not, there was no update to fix anything if a bad product was put out. Sure, innovation was simpler because less ideas had been tried, but you had one chance to get it right and I think modern game developers/publishers could take a few lessons from that.
