I removed the Mental Health tag. Don't use that tag for these types of posts. We want to keep that tag area focused on the resources that are helpful for members of the RP community who have legitimate behavioral health concerns. We don't want to force them to have to wade through everyone's political content to find the resources they need.

Sir, I would prefer to have these conversations in private, but you choose the forum. Can you define your statement of “types of posts”? This article isn’t political. The article creates a good balance of reporting what is actually happening where many people are looking to hurt themselves. Self-mutilation is a very serious mental issue and you won’t allow it to be discussed here in a respectful way.

Look at the some of the issues the article speaks about:
"some of these persons mutilate themselves; others ask surgeons for an amputation or for the transection of their spinal cord," that site adds of the shocking steps some are taking.

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) notes on its website, "Those with BIID desire the amputation of one or more healthy limbs or desire a paralysis."

“He went on, "It’s embarrassing, and I don’t know if you can be considered a serious human being if you alter your body like this, instead of getting the appropriate mental help you need."”

“Siegel referred to Munchausen syndrome, which is a "factitious disorder" in which a person "repeatedly and deliberately acts as if they have a physical or mental illness" when they are not really sick, according to WebMd.com.”

The article does touch on transgenders as a backdrop and just mentions them, as they should be included in any serious discussion about mental health. As I indicated it is a well-balanced article. Maybe you take personal offense to some of the people mentioned, if you do that is your own personal bias.

I respectively request you restore the “Mental Health” Tag to this conversation. It is appropriate for the discussion, and you are preventing a portion of the audience from benefiting from the discussion.

SFC (Join to see) - Your opinion is noted. I've given you the guidance on how we want that particular tag used. I posted it on here so that other members can see it and use the Mental Health tag accordingly. My sending everyone private messages, while that does maintain discretion, is not a helpful approach when trying to educate the broader RP community on how we want that tag used. By posting it on here, others will see it and will refrain from misusing it in the future.

Reference your comments about "self-mutilation" and "mental health", those are you opinions and the opinions of the writer of that article (which comes from a very political website, I might add). And, attempting to drag transgender people into the discussion is openly disparaging members of the RP community. This is not the type of content we want posted in the Mental Health area. If people want to read this type of content, they can find it in the other topic areas that remain on your post.
