"Hi! I am a 'Local Guide' - Level 6 on 'Google Maps' in NYC!"
My photos have 5 Million Views now and Google has named me as one of their 'Top Photographers!' I love doing it... very fun ...and is part of my exercise routine (getting out and walking). My Dad taught me to shoot when I was very young along with others. I practice the discipline of 'Framing' and 'Awareness of Light.' I kept an interest in it and take many photos from the same angle or area and only keep a few for Google Maps and my Albums online. I delete about 70-90% of the shots I take.

No they were just in the shots! Haha. They turned out to be my 'models' in a way.
I did have a couple of chats here and there while shooting but not with them. Chelsea Market is a great place to meet people, though. I picked up on that after a bit. It seems like a 'hook up' spot too... either people meeting up after talking in advance or just meeting new people. It is much more friendly than NYC is in general.
'The Google Team' liked this photo in particular... it pops up as a special notice for the Guides when they do... "a lucky shot in my mind" ...one girl looks one way, the other looks the other... it took off in 'views' as well. Some pics go to 100k, 300k, I have one over a Million. "I wish they were pennies!"
There is no pay involved but Google sends little gifts to Guides sometimes (I am told). It seems we are also 'preferred' users (part of the team that is) ...which is cool.
