This is a great read explaining the evolution of the use of Native Americans into our sports and culture. It is a shame that we succumb to the few who claim they are offended by what we honor. I was a lifelong Washington Redskins fan, having been born in the DC area. I grew up during the height of their franchise and I never thought we would ever change our name. Snyder promised he would never do it and lied. Today I am no longer interested in watching the NFL. It not only got political, but they picked a side. I don't watch Sports for political commentary or opinions, I go to watch my team win.

So as this article stated, we continue to conceal and forget the accomplishments of those who created this nation. Instead, we rehash those events we have overcome, as if they are still ongoing today. This is poisonous to our country. By no means am I saying we should learn about and understand the history of our past (good and bad), but living as if we are still experiencing many of those events today is counter-productive.

What next? The KC Chiefs? The rank of Chief Master Seargent? No more Fighting Irish? Vikings? Braves? Names of cities/states? How does this end?

The Progressives, Socialists, and Communists are looking to change our society. They are feeding off one another.

A statue of Tammany keeps watch over the campus of the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland.

Another Tammany statue enjoys a place of prestige in Old City Philadelphia at the corner of Front and Market streets, a few blocks east of Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell.

Tammany also serves as a silent sentinel to the heroes of Gettysburg.

Read the article for more about Tammany and his contributions to our history.

I was impressed with all the history in this article. When I saw what Mac wrote it reminded me of all the military contributions, so I added the history tag.
