I retired as of June and the Postmaster General's plan was to go up 2x a year. Sad times are a coming.

We all know a government-run company is the description of inefficiency and mismanagement. Remember getting 50-60 beautiful Christmas cards from all your friends and relatives? Birthday and Valentine's cards? Well, those wonderful cards used to cost only a few cents to a quarter to mail out, but now the mismanages have fixed it so No one is using the US mail except for business. Efficiency is making it cheaper to send mail, not more expensive or prohibitive. Sorry to say, we all know our Postal Service is NOT efficient.

This is very true management waste time and money, and now bowing down for congress to make the Postal Service have electric vehicles. When i started the Postal Service back in the 80's i delivered heavy loads of 1st and 2nd class mail with 3rd class a Tiny portion mail. When i retired in June2023 the mail is so light it's not even an eight hour day anymore with about 75% 3rd class 20% 1st and 5% 2nd class mail and PMG on down is doing Nothing to remedy this problem. One easy way to generate 1st class mail is to have a postal personnel teach elementary students how to correctly address a letter as i was taught around 3rd grade. Easy Money

Lt Col Charlie Brown Mail service today isn't as important as it was say 25 years ago. How often do you mail things? Me, a book of stamps will last me a year easily! The post office could save a lot of money by stopping Saturday delivery. Would it really matter? Most likely not in 99% of the cases. I can see keeping the post office open on Saturday since it may be the only day some folks have to get there and send packages, purchase stamps, etc. My opinion. Feel free to disagree if you like! It won't hurt my feelings!

This is very true you could have carriers work half day just to deliver packages. Also stop Amazon Sunday package delivery.
