As my time as a former Cadet at USAFA the appropriate response would have been - "I don't know "sir or ma'am" but I will find out."
This all seems very conflicting - do officers still get greeted with either "sir" or "ma'am" - not "cis-sir" nor "poly" in the military?

Seems that Lt. Gen. Richard M. Clark needs to have "Contrails" amended with a section on "Gender".
