LTC Eugene Chu at my age I have some of my $$$ in 10 month CD & the majority of it in a decent % 18 month CD.

Good point. I have some money in I-bonds, but am not supposed to touch it for five years. They have very good interest during inflation, but there is a financial penalty for early redemption.
