Many thing are tied in to this tragedy. The defund the police movement and it’s effect on the growing criminal activity, the DA’s not charging criminal’s appropriately, politicians campaigning for votes saying they won’t be tough on crime, and the voters who voted them in office. The juvenile justice system is broken beyond repair, adult jails and prisons are more of a vacation than a punishment. If there are no consequences the appeal of committing a crime is magnified. Guns will be blamed by the above mentioned people when the individual behind the gun( or ANY weapon) are to blame. More crimes both fatal and non are committed with bladed or blunt weapons around the world. Vehicles kill more people annually then anything else yet you never hear a politician on any radio, TV, or social media mention this fact

All true stuff you are4 speaking about. I wish the news media would report on it honestly so people can see what they are voting for. I won't be holding my breath.

Sad how it takes a significant emotional event to change a viewpoint

It would be interesting to see how she votes in the next elections, if she connects the violence with all the bad policies in the DC area.
