Worked in downtown L.A. for 20 years (until 10/2021). Homeless camps taking over entire streets. Being careful so as not to step in sh*t or used needles. Nighttime bonfires on city street asphalt. Sticking to major boulevards to avoid being robbed/killed. The minute I retired I moved out of state and have no intention of going back.
