MSgt Steve Sweeney nailed it..
"Some of America’s biggest industries – including health care and pharma – wouldn’t exist without government subsidies, but what are taxpayers getting in return?"

So John Stewart agrees that the Affordable Care A ct (Obamacare) which created HUGE subsidies for health insurance and FORCED this "classic double dip" upon the American people is a disaster......

Glad to see he is finally seeing the light.

What other option was there to provide needed health insurance to those that could not otherwise afford it? Obama worked within the realm of the possible as even the mention of a full government option, as exists in many other countries, would not be entertained and would have any politician with an 'R' after their name screaming "socialism!!" You have a better plan, let's hear it? Is it like Trump's great healthcare plan that was never unveiled? Always two weeks away.

I do like how you try to reframe Jon's thoughts and interpret it through your own narrow aperture, but you are wrong.

We start by torte reform. Limit malpractice suits so that malpractice insurance is not so expensive. This will in turn drive down overhead, which can then be passed to customers.

Make doctors and hospitals advertise prices - and stick to them.

Eliminate "emergency" fees for routine procedures - an X-Ray from the emergency room should not cost three times an X-Ray from your primary care.

Aggressively pursue criminal and civil cases against insurers and health care providers that cheat consumers.

Don't allow doctors or hospitals to refuse insurance - or insurance to refuse doctors or hospitals.

And then let the market take care of the rest.
